Sizzlin' Summer News

Whew! Would you believe it's already midsummer! From the excessive heat waves to the delightful endeavors of summer such as vacations, poolside relaxing and lemonade drinking, summer couldn't be moving ever so smoothly. The same can be said here at Sanmann Kennels.

In the month of May our wonderful mother Abby delivered a litter of truly spectacular puppies. She delivered 7 healthy boys and 1 radiant little girl. We have decided to keep the little girl and have named her Carly. She is doing splendid and is a fantastic edition to the kennel. We wish all the new Sanmann families with new little pups nothing but best wishes and success as they strive to raise wonderful golden retrievers.

In other Sanmann golden news, a big shout out goes to Diane and Ed Coyle for allowing
Shelby to produce the bundle of joy that is Brooke. She is a wonderful pup that truly resembles in mind, body and spirit her parents: Shelby and Stepper. She is growing into a beautiful young dog and we hope she continues to grow into a healthy, jovial dog. Justin and Sadie have developed a taste for the sweet life and have made the decision to be spoiled and waited on rather than compete as show dogs! The only "jobs" these two consider are the occasional recreational walk in the park, a good pet on the sofa, and the ever-so relaxing ability to chill poolside. Yet don't count Chickie out of the show-handling fight! She continues to push through and step up to the plate and we are so excited to begin showing her in August. Our queen of the french bulldogs herself, Meadow, has been living the sweet life in her new home with Kim and Bill ever since the 22nd of May. We wish them best wishes as they spoil her rotten!

For all those who were unable to obtain a little bundle of joy that is a Sanmann golden, have no fear! We bred Stepper to DeeDee at the end of June and expect to have a wonderful, healthy, and gorgeous litter of pups ready around the end of August. Stepper and Austin have also lent their services to several other breeders so we wish best of luck to anyone in search of a golden retriever puppy. We are confident in your search that you will find that special pup for you!

In a bit of unfortunate news, one of our oldest "mothers," Ellie, was sadly put down on July 5th of 2010. She lived an incredible life and truly experienced all their is to experience in life when you're a canine. We know she is looking down on us and has spread her blessings and light over the kennel.

For those who are inquiring, all training classes have been suspended due to the excessive heat we have been experiencing. Show handling is expected to resume on September 2nd of 2010 and Obedience classes are expected to resume on September 7th of 2010. Feel free to check our blog sometime in August for schedules. We hope to see you and your fabulous dogs ready and excited to resume with handling!

Our staff has been busy as well this summer in the realm of travel. Two of our workers have traveled to places well, far from the kennel lets just say! Kurt had a wonderful trip to France and Kristin also had an amazing time at Costa Rica! Carols hard work also paid off. She came home with an assortment of ribbons from the prestigious Devon Horse show. A congrats goes out to her, most definitely!

Until we blog again, everyone have a happy and safe rest of the summer and try not to pass out from all this heat!!!
